Shanghai Lansheng Daewoo Corp. is one of the first domestic Sino-foreign joint venture trade corporations authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. It is incorporated with the co-investment of Shanghai Lansheng(Group) Corporation and Korean Daewoo International Corporation. Its registered capital amounts to 100 million RMB, of which 51 million RMB, accounting for 51% of the registered capital, is contributed by Shanghai Lansheng(Group) Corporation while 49 million RMB, accounting for 49% of the registered capital, is contributed by Korean Daewoo International Corporation. The Corporation is registered in Shanghai Pudong New Area with the term for the joint venture being 20 years.

    The business scope of the Corporation covers: independent operation and agency of import and export (including triangle trade) of all kinds of products and technology other than those commodities which are stipulated to be exported by state organization in a unified and joint way and which are stipulated to be imported by state-assigned companies; processing imported materials, processing with materials and according to samples, assembling parts supplied by clients and conducting compensation trade together with engaging in domestic wholesale.

    Shanghai Lansheng (Group) Corporation named after Mr. Zhang Lansheng, a National Excellent Entrepreneur, was established with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's Government in October, 1994. Following the practice of collectivization, industrialization and internationalization in accordance with the requirements for the modern enterprise system, the Corporation has gradually developed into a grand backbone enterprise group with international competivity, multivariate equity ownership and multilevel structure, whose business scope covers import and export trade, industry, scientific research, finance, commerce, real estate, tourism and transportation. It has also been one of the first experimental units for the comprehensive and complete reform of modern enterprise system.

    Currently, Shanghai Lansheng (Group) Corporation has 14 member enterprises: Shanghai Lansheng Corporation, Shanghai Medicines and Health products Import & Export Corporation, Shanghai Lansheng Daewoo Corporation, Shanghai Lansheng Real Estate Industrial Corporation, Shanghai Lansheng Hotel, Shanghai Lansheng International Transportation Corporation and Shanghai Lansheng Travel Agency, etc. It possess in total over 2 billion RMB of assets and 1 billion RMB of net assets from which the state-owned net assets account for about 0.6 billion RMB.
